Geoffrey's Birthday!

Yesterday we celebrated Geoff's birthday... we were going to get a bed frame for our birthdays... BUT decided we'd rather have it for Christmas... SO. First come pictures of the grow-up cherry pie I made and his candle blowing fun :) (It is better than last year's pie, but made with just as much love.)
THEN come pictures of what Mon and Dad got him :)

LOOK cherries. :)

Jello recipe # 1

Dad's birthday cake!

The decorated cake! (The fisherman, pole and tree trunk are melted chocolate chips. yummm.)

Dad really liked it! (He loves fishing!) and no worries, my nephew is wearing his bathing trunks.

THIS is the inside of the yummy cake!

A few copied journals from RvB so I can have them in my journal :)

August 5th, 2007 That job.

I didn't get it. I'm bummed... but not too bummed, I know God
has something better for me. I prayed a lot about it and I was
going to take getting the job offer as meaning I should accept the
job... so it is actually reassuring, a little, that I didn't get it. I know
it means we are still in my parent's house.......... but I'm so excited
to see what the next opportunity is.

The principal at the school called me and left a voicemail - I
"presented myself very well" and was in the running to the end,
someone with more experience got the job. He said that if it doesn't
work out with this secretary, they'll call me... which means I really
was in the running to the end :) and I did do a great job, that was
nice to know.

So... keep praying :) for Nightbane too, it is easier to get job ideas
for a Business Major like mine than a Communication Major.

August 1st, 2007 Interview
Oh.... my..... goodness. :) I had an interview today right? At
Livingston Christian Schools. They need a secretary. :) It went SO
WELL!! I don't know if I'll get the job, but I have no problem with
how the interview went... I would be excited but not too surprised
if I got it. :D Seriously, it went so well! I'm horrible at typing out
conversations... to suffice it to say that I had good to great answers
for all of their questions and I am really happy with how it went. It
isn't the absolute-greatest job ever as far as pay and benefits go (no
benefits. pay starts at $10/hr at 35hrs per week... after 90 days a
$1-2 raise... maybe more after that) but it could be great. Pray
about it, I know I am! They are deciding on Friday... so I should
hear by Monday. :)

July 30th, 2007 Title: Things I like at Ikea
Last Friday, I went to Ikea in Canton with my mom, sister-in-law, her
brother and Mom and my nephew (her son) :) and wow, what a trip!
Ikea is fun, if you like 'home stores' kinds of places, I can almost
guarantee you WILL like Ikea. :) *sings* These are a few of my
favorite things:

I bought this: we'll probably put it in a hall or our living room

and I bought this laundry bag: I'm going to buy or make more so
sorting can be easy!

This is where the "I want"s start :)

That bookcase is massive! Dimensions: Width: 36 5/8 "
Depth: 12 5/8 " Height: 78 " for $100, solid wood!

Don't let the picture fool you! This is also gigantic... it seats three
people easily on each side... you could put one on each end if you
wanted.

This bed frame? So nice! It is very sturdy-feeling and not too big or
skinny-looking.

Mmmmmhmm, I like this dresser. :) It is expensive, so it might stay a
wish

A lot of you may not know my love of all things baby... :) most of you
do. This is my new favorite-est crib! It is the perfect height for my
short self and it turns into an adorable toddler bed. AND it is $60
cheaper than the cheapest comparable Target crib.

This light? I love it. Its home will be over a crib! :) A light/mobile
combo if you ask me! I'd probably trim off those spike looking things,
don't want those in my baby's head/mouth/face/anywhere unsafe or
painful!

Okay... I think that's good for now. :) By the way, I'm not pregnant! :) I
just love baby-ness! Oh yea, and my mom has decided that our first
child will be a girl named Sophie :) My mom's cute, I like her.

Well...

I'm rescheduling my test. There is no way I can pass that test tomorrow.
better to have to pay a reschedule fee and a diploma application fee than to fail and have to pay for the test again and the diploma fee. :P yuck!

I'm going to go in and talk to Kathe Heuman and see if it isn't too late. I called and emailed her today and found out that she is out of the office until Monday... so I think she's been out for a couple days.

Geoff and I are getting together with Dr. Patton for lunch, that should help my mood some.

I miss my friends. :P

The job offer.

This is a copycat, it is also on rvb... I'll edit it sometime.
______________________________
I turned it down. It was ONLY commission... it made me uneasy. That and the fact that I didn't quite understand the company. What it does, what it's purpose is, what the parent company is?? Besides, I think I know now what I want to be... a church secretary! (or administrative assistant... which is just too long to say and type.)

But, how do I find a church? That's my new problem. :P

My first...

Today? I got a job offer. I'm not sure if I'm going to take it. As silly as I feel for possibly not accepting a job offer... (my second company interviewed with too... :) That's pretty good.)

I'm just not sure the long term is right for me... hm.
Siler-Milton Group, Inc.
I'll let you know... I have to call them by tomorrow afternoon.

I'll give you more details then... it was a long day and I'm tired. G'Night.

One hamster left...

So... last night we discovered the final victim of our accidental inbreeding... well, we aren't absolutely positive it was inbreeding and technically there is one more child-of-the-possibly-siblings left. Sorry, Rachel and Nathan, Francis may be next.
(wait... there are 2. I forgot about the other one that we gave away. hm.)

But our favorite is the one left so it isn't too heartbreaking... besides, I'm getting a little used to finding dead hamsters. I gotta say, thinking on the positive side, it will be a lot easier to move a turtle, a fish and ONE hamster compared to two hamsters. :) YAY for the positive side. After we move, Squeek/Jabba will get a bigger home. :) He's moving up in the world.

Babies

My cousin and his wife are going to have a baby... in September, I think. They got married 2 weeks before us... but they were engaged after us. :P pbbblt. Spence beat me to the aisle... and to the baby-ness. Yea, I know he's older... but I'm discovering that I can be very competitive depending on the topic. O:)

And now? ... *sigh* He posted a picture on his Xanga of part of the nursery... and they have the crib I like... I allowed myself a little pity party last night when I saw the picture and now I am just archiving it... even though I should probably let it go and be happy they have an awesome crib... but I really like to be different from other people, relatives included, and I'm thinking someone will say "That's like Spencer and Jen's crib" and it will no longer have been my idea first... I've had a secret baby registry up for months picking my favorite things. *looong sigh*

Maybe I'll have a new favorite by the time I'm pregnant. ...I have a couple others that could grow on me more... the very last 2 pictures will be my next-favorites, they are tied right now. :) See? I can change my mind :P

Here are the Target.com pictures:

Summer and a new deadline

Somehow. Somehow I made it through the end of the semester. Sure, I have more stresses that are, in fact, still related to school-ness. But the worst is over and life will hopefully smooth out soon.
...she says with a hopeful gleam in her eye...
We are trying to find jobs... and if we can find them in the next week we will be able to apply for an apartment that currently has a really amazing deal that ends the weekend of our move-out date.

I'm sure I'll have more to say on this topic, maybe today even. If so, I'll edit this post.

-edit-

See? I'm editing!

I just applied for 3 jobs... maybe I'll hear back from one... or maybe the silly Post Office will get my address right and I'll actually get the practice test I've been waiting for for weeks now. >:) *silly angry smile* They actually sent it to FLINT instead of SPRING ARBOR. huh. They need me, I'm sure of it! :) <- real smile. (they pay $20 an hour!)

Here's the amazing deal: if we move in by July 15th, we get $100 off rent every month for a year. yea. AHHHHH!!! I need a job. If one of us can get a full time job that pays $10 an hour, we're set on that. AHHH!!!!!! Seriously! I need a job and I have a week!

This is it.

The last day! ... the last night of torture.

The last night of being awake until who knows when because I got behind in my classes because I worked too much one month so I have 5 papers to write and I've been up since 7 something Thursday and my Dad is probably up already and my family is excited because I graduate Saturday and I'm just trying to get these papers done that professor gave me an extension to do by Friday noon which is less than 7 hours away but I'm going out for coffee with a professor-friend at 10:30 so my papers have to be done then and that is only 5 hours away and I still have to write at least one paper that I haven't read the book for because Strategic Management took up all of my time after Phonathon was over when I thought I would have time to do homework for classes that I hadn't done much work for and now I can probably only write one of the 5 papers because that's all the time that I have and silly blackboard took off the class that I am doing work for right now.

The first post

Two weeks to the end of school. Less than that.
Oh my goodness.
Not just a school year. The END of school.

I wish I had time to post my thoughts about this... but alas, I am being kept very busy.

My next break tonight... maybe I'll post again then.
